Previous Experience
Chris returned to his family and friends in the Bold North after spending the last 20+ years telling people’s stories all around the country.
He’s an Edward R. Murrow award winning reporter, and has received multiple Emmy awards for his work covering the people of Minnesota.
Chris was also one of the first journalists in the world to arrive in Japan after the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami. And he covered the historic hurricane season of 2004 while working in Orlando. While living in Omaha he covered the start of the War on Terror, and accompanied military forces in 2001 as they left for Afghanistan right after 9/11.
Chris doesn’t travel as much as he’d like to anymore — he’s a grounded family man living in the west metro. He works the morning news so he can be around in the evenings to help coach his children’s football and basketball teams.
Chris and his wife Kate have a son who is a Type 1 diabetic — they work hard for local organizations like JDRF in their fundraising efforts to help find a cure. Chris is also a recent below the knee amputee — after a series of unfortunate events stemming from his high school and college basketball career.
When not at the TV station, emceeing a local charity event, or on some kind of sports court, you’ll find him on Lake Minnetonka.
