There are a variety of hunting and trapping seasons in Minnesota. Here’s a guide to help you prepare.

Hunting Season Requirements

Purchase a hunting license. Hunters must have a valid hunting license, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Licenses can be purchased at any DNR license agent, online or by calling 888-665-4236.

Understand regulations. Minnesotans planning to participate in hunting and trapping seasons are asked to understand the state’s regulations.

During the Season

Voluntary CWD testing. As part of the DNR’s COVID-19 response, chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing will be voluntary for all disease zones and surveillance areas. More information can be found here.
