Bubbly and Festive Drinks to Enjoy All Year

Champagne doesn't have to be a drink you only enjoy on New Year's Eve. Amalia Moreno-Damgaard is a chef and cookbook author and she stopped by with three bubbly and festive drinks you can enjoy throughout 2019.

Spicy Champagne Shrimp Cocktail
Recipe by Chef Amalia Moreno-Damgaard (AmaliaLLC.com)

Serves 1
1 lime halved
Dried spicy chile powder
1 cooked shrimp
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Pimentón (Spanish paprika)
1 tsp chopped parsley
1 skewer
1 cocktail tomato
1 glass Brut champagne
 
Directions:
Quickly run a half lime around the rim of a champagne glass to moisten and then cover it with the chile powder.
In a small bowl, toss the shrimp with some lime juice and season it with sprinkle the salt, pepper. Skewer the shrimp lengthwise. Sprinkle paprika and parsley on both sides of the shrimp.
Carefully pour the champagne into the glass by tilting it. Be careful not to touch the chile powder while pouring.
Garnish with the tomato and shrimp skewer.
 
Latin Royal Cocktail

Serves 1
1 oz. Patron Citronge pineapple or orange liqueur, tequila pomegranate, or chile liquor
1 glass Brut Cava (Spanish sparkling wine)
Pomegranate seeds
 
Directions:
Pour the liquor first.
Carefully pour the Cava into the glass by tilting it.
Garnish (float) with the pomegranate seeds.
 
Cava Passion Fruit Cocktail

Serves 1
1 oz. passion fruit puree
1 glass Brut Cava (Spanish sparkling wine)
Skewer
Raspberries
Mint leaves
 
Directions:
Pour the passion fruit puree into the glass.
Carefully pour the Cava into the glass by tilting it.
Thread the raspberries and mint leaves in the skewer alternating them.
Garnish with the skewer.
