Behind the Blue Ribbon

Hundreds of people lined up to drop off their home baked goods at the fair before it even opened in the hopes of taking home the prized blue ribbon!  Reporter Kelli Hanson met up with the judges to find out just how this whole process works.

Kurt's Honey Blue Ribbon Cheesecake 

Crust Ingredients:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
3 Tbsp. melted butter 

Filling Ingredients:
3 pkgs 8oz cream cheese
3 Tbsp corn starch
2/3 cup honey
3 whole eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract 


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in the bottom of a 9-inch spring form pan. Press the graham cracker mixture on the bottom and the sides of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool. 

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Mix the cream cheese, honey, corn starch, and vanilla in a stand mixer on medium speed. Add eggs and mix until combined. Pour into baking pan. 

Bake for 70 minutes or until the middle has a slight jiggle. 

Let cool for one hour.
