It was one year ago on April 21st, 2016 when Prince died. To honor is life several events are planned throughout the cities, including the artist’s home at Paisley Park in Chanhassen.
People from all over the world are expected to be in town to celebrate his life. First Avenue has become a spot where many folks show up to pay their respect. First Avenue is where Prince did some of his first gigs. It’s also where he filmed “Purple Rain”. When Prince died, thousands showed up at First Avenue and a dance party ensued for days. People also belted his popular songs all night.
Paisley Park was Prince’s home and studio. It has since been opened to the public for tours and special events. This weekend, they are offering a special VIP Weekend with music, panel discussions and stories from people who knew Prince the best. As soon as it was announced and tickets went on sale, people rushed to get them.
