Help Find Rocket a Forever Home

Rocket is a Great Dane and she is almost 3 years old.  She has been in rescue for 18 months and she would do be best in a home with another large dog or with a family with one child. She would also be best with older, considerate human children. She is crate-trained, leash-trained and house-trained!

Information on Pet Licensing:

As far as other stuff, we thought your audience would also be interested in the following information about the importance of (and little-known perks of) pet licensing:

Pet licensing is an important safety measure for four-legged family members. Licensed pets are three times more likely to return home than those who aren’t licensed.

Licensing is legally required in many cities, and at some local dog parks. In some cases pet owners could be given a fine for not following licensing laws.

Some cities offer perks with licensing. For example, if your pet is licensed and becomes lost and found in Minneapolis or St. Paul, they'll score a free ride home rather than winding up in a shelter. Minneapolis also offers licensees an I Love My Pet rewards card.

Typically, city revenue from pet licensing is used to support animals in city impound facilities (animal control). This means licensing dollars go toward things such as caring for shelter animals, reuniting lost dogs and cats with their owners, finding homes for strays, investigating animal-welfare and cruelty cases, and teaching the public about responsible pet ownership.

Residents of other cities can check their city government websites for details.

Some cities offer discounts for lifetime licenses, senior citizens (of the human variety), and/or having a pet who has been spayed or neutered.
