Make Ahead Smoothies

Pre-packaged smoothies can get a bit spendy and cutting up the ingredients each day to make a smoothie, can take more time than you have in the mornings.  Laurie Crowell, owner of Golden Fig, prepares the makings of smoothies for up to 18 days.

Pumpkin Pecan Smoothie

3 banana (1/2 banana per bag)
12 cubes pumpkin puree (2 cubes per bag)
12 pitted dates (2 per bag)
1 1/2 C pecans (1/4 C per bag)
3 tsp vanilla bean powder (1/2 tsp. per bag)
shake of cinnamon in each bag

Write on bags "add 1 C liquid while blending" I especially like coconut milk for this one.

Divvy up ingredients between 6 bags and freeze.

 

Tasty Green Smoothie

6 banana (1 per bag)
3 C pineapple (1/2 C per bag)
3 C granny smith apple, sliced (1/2 C per bag)
3 C avocado (1/2 per bag)
6 C baby spinach (1 c per bag)
3 tsp vanilla bean powder )1/2 tsp. per bag)

Write on bag "add 1.5 C liquid when blending" you can add coconut water or plain water or any kind of milk

Divvy up ingredients between 6 bags and freeze.

 

Immune Boosting Citrus Smoothie

9  C citrus -tangerine, orange, clementine etc (1 1/2 C per bag)
6 carrot coarsely chopped (1 carrot per bag)
6 banana (1 per bag)
1 inch slice of ginger cut into 6 pieces (1 piece per bag)
1/2 inch piece fresh turmeric cut into 6 pieces (1 piece per bag)
1 lime (after bags are filled, squeeze a little squeeze of lime juice into each bag before zipping shut

Write on bag "add 1 C liquid" I especially like coconut water in this one but plain water also works well.
