Former Viking Ben Leber’s Healthy Routine
Ben Leber was a NFL linebacker for nearly 10 years, spending five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He says keeping a balanced and healthy life is important to him and it’s why he joined us as we wrapped up Twin Cities Live’s “Unleash Your Awesome” week. He showed us simple things we can do to make 2017 the best year yet.
Ben’s first practice for living a healthier life is planning meals in advance. He also says it’s important to get enough protein, especially at breakfast.
His go-to in the mornings are Gluten-Free Pancakes. He adds a scoop of BiPro Whey Protein Powder to the mix, which contains 20-grams of protein in one serving.
Ben says it’s crucial to stick to a workout routine. Because his knees took a beating during his football career, he started boxing to incorporate boxing. He says it’s important to incorporate low impact workouts and schedule them in advance.
Ben also loved workout Apps. His favorite are My Fitness Pal and Johnson and Johnson 7 Minute Workout.
If you want to hold yourself more accountable, keep a food and exercise journal. But he says it’s Okay to screw up. Just stay active!
