Good Compay: Husband/Wife Company Owners in Robbinsdale
The city of Robbinsdale is a tight knit community. The city’s downtown has several unique businesses that attract folks from all over the cities. Many of them are run by husband and wife teams.
Nonna Rosa’s Italian Restaurant is owned by Tina and Francesco Suglia. They opened it six and half years ago. The food is traditional because Francesco is from Italy. The menu is full delicious dishes. Tina and Francesco say working together is blessing, but it can be tricky. They have long hours. The best part is that they get to see each other every day. Their daughter also gets to come to work occasionally. Tina and Francesco say they love the city of Robbinsdale because it is family oriented and everyone is supportive of local business.
Lions Gym is owned by Dr. Stephen and Leah Menya. They started a gym years ago in their basement. They opened their Robbinsdale location five years ago. Their gym is unique because they also do chiropractic care, massage, and nutritional counseling. It’s a one stop shop for wellness. Dr. Stephen and Leah bring their two boys to work with them. They say owning their own company allows them to spend lots of time together as family during the day. They say they balance each other out and offer different strengths which has helped their business be a success.
The Wicked Wort just opened in January. It’s a new company, but Steven Caryle has been in the brewery business for years. His company makes breweries for others. This time, it was Steven who wanted to have his own. The Wicked Wort is all family run. Steven’s wife Teresa works at the company and so do their kids. They have ten beers on tap. They say the best part about their family business is seeing how so many people in Robbinsdale have supported them and embraced their hard work.
