Em’s Adventures: Driving a Sulky at Running Aces
Running Aces in Columbus, Minnesota is where fans get to see the thrill of horse racing up close. This season harness racing is back. The riders use a sulky or a cart with two wheels and they sit in the back of it as the horse runs. It takes skill, confidence and perhaps some guts as Emily finds out.
Jessica Johnson owns one of the horses at the track. Making sure the horses are groomed just right and harnesses is important on race day. Nick Roland is the lead driver this season. He takes us a ride in a two seat sulky around the track to show Emily how it’s done.
Racing runs now through September 3rd.
Tuesdays at 7pm
Wednesdays at 7pm
Saturdays at 6pm
Sundays at 6pm
