Good Company: Versatile Vehicles
Versatile Vehicles has been in business for 31 years. It has three locations. The company is in Savage, Prior Lake, and Brainerd. This “Good Company” has also provided the American dream for the Accad family.
In 1986, Gaby Accad came to America from Lebanon. There was a civil war going on and Gaby wanted a better life. He went to Bethany Lutheran College and Mankato State for his education. He learned the English language and took business classes. He scored an internship at Versatile Vehicles and that was the big game changer.
Gaby worked his way up and today is fifty percent owner of the company. His family also works with the company. Gaby’s daughter Stephanie says she remembers her first job as a kid running deliveries, stuffing envelopes and dusting cars in the showroom. Today, she is the CFO.
Gaby says if it wasn’t for this opportunity, he wouldn’t be able to provide the life that he dreamed off here in the United States. Gaby says it’s proof that hard work and perseverance pays off.
Versatile Vehicles continues to grow. Today, there are forty employees. And while it appears that they are all about golf carts, 85 percent of the business is not golf related. The vehicles are used for all sorts of things. People buy them as a second way of transportation, for yard work, hunting and more. You can even customize the carts.
