Taste of Food & Wine Experience
For over 20 years Minnesota Monthly has been bringing great food, craft beers and delicious wine together for the Food & Wine Experience. This year it’s happening at the Legend’s Club at Target Field next weekend. Minnesota Monthly’s Editor, Rachel Hutton stops by Twin Cities live for an early taste of the fun.
Food & Wine pairings from the Minnesota Monthly’s Food & Wine Experience:
“Best Value” Pinot Noir – 2013 Crimson & Quartz ($10.99) Californian wine that is smooth, well-blended features flavors of ripe black cherries, plums and hints of coffee.
- PAIRING: Pinstripes Chicken & Goat Cheese Pasta
“Best Value” Sauvignon Blanc – 2014 Joseph Mellot Sincerite Sauvignon Blanc ($15) This French wine is a good match for seafood and has features of floral notes (white flowers) with typical Sauvignon aromas such as citrus fruit.
- PAIRING: The Oceanaire Seafood Room’s smoked whitefish Blini with Chives and Crème Fraiche
“Best Of” Sparkling – JCB N°69 Crémant de Bourgogne Rose of Pinot Noir ($23) This French sparkling wine is a light and refreshing rosé. Vibrant aromas of raspberry and red currant evolve into aromatic jammy notes.
- PAIRING: Café Latte’s Chocolate Buttercream Cake
“Best Of” Cool Climate Red – 2013 Marquette Reserve ($34) This Minnesotan wine is blended with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and has a dark fruit core with a high concentration of ripe blackberries, with notes of black trufle, dark plum, black currant and fig.
