How long have you been part of the TCL team? Joined the team back in July of 2014!

If you didn't have this job, what other job would you have? If I didn't work on TV,
I'd probably be in sales. Or an agent. Or a professional napper.

Do you have a pet? If so,
tell us about it.
I had an obese pug named Boo. Real big. Though she passed, her spirit
is eternal, and is with me as I type this.  Frankly, she might be typing this.

Where would you like to live? We love Minnesota, but if I had to call somewhere else home, it'd be Carmel, California.

What celebrity would you like to see on TCL? David Letterman

What is on your bucket list? To buy all the buckets I haven't bought yet.

What would you NEVER be caught doing? My hair. I always do that in private. It's a complicated, intimate process.

Worst fear?
Being afraid of things.

Biggest personal accomplishment? Completing this bio. I'm almost there. And being a Dad is pretty great too.

If you could pick anyone, who would you like to travel with? This feels like a trick question.  My wife. My answer is my wife.

What is your motto in life? Just Do It. And also, I'm lovin' it.

Where would you like to live? Our dream house would be on 6 acres in Afton!

What celebrity would you like to see on TCL? I'd love to have Ellen DeGeneres in studio. I love how positive she is!

Steve joined 5 Eyewitness News in December of 2013. Before coming to the Twin Cities, Steve spent time working for Hubbard Broadcasting in Los Angeles, California and Albuquerque, New Mexico for the company's entertainment cable news network REELZ Channel. During his time there, Steve worked as a featured red carpet reporter and anchored the network's daily entertainment news program, as well as anchoring special events for the network.

Steve studied at Azusa Pacific University in southern California, earning a degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Media Studies. During his time in college, he anchored various campus television shows. After graduation, he took a job at his alma mater working in the Undergraduate Admissions Office as an Admissions Counselor. By day, he helped students and their families' work through the admissions process. By night, he covered various red carpet events for an entertainment website he created. The website was purchased by REELZ. Before leaving REELZ, Steve co-created, wrote, produced and hosted a weekly comedic show called "Who Said What?"

While working for 5 Eyewitness News, Steve was asked to guest-host for Twin Cities Live in February of 2014. He had no idea what it would turn into! After multiple fill-in appearances, Steve joined Twin Cities Live as a co-host, which gave him the opportunity to return to his entertainment roots. "I've admired the quality of work Elizabeth does, even before working with her. And from the first show we did together, it just felt right."

Steve has had family in Minnesota for years, and he fell in love with Minnesota after spending a summer here in high school. He and his wife and three kids are grateful to finally be able to call Minnesota home. Steve enjoys reading (feel free to email him a good book recommendation), grilling and hanging out with his family. He knows that sounds a bit cheesy.  But he doesn’t care. He also really likes writing in the third person.

Twin Cities Live welcomed co-Host Elizabeth Ries on June 15th, 2009.

Elizabeth was born in Cambridge but grew up in Apple Valley, graduating from Apple Valley High School in 1999. After interning at KMSP in Eden Prairie and WMTV in Madison, Elizabeth received her B.A. in journalism and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She immediately jumped into TV news, anchoring the morning newscast at KDLH in Duluth and later anchoring and reporting at WBAY in Green Bay, WI. She was reporting for 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS before making the move to Twin Cities Live. Elizabeth says, "I'm so proud to be from this community and getting to showcase what makes the Twin Cities so special every day on TV is the best gig out there."

Elizabeth shares quite a bit of her personal life on Twin Cities Live. During her time hosting the show, she met and married her husband Jay, gave birth to their daughter Bernadette in January of 2015 and welcomed son Franklin in July 0f 2017. Their house is also home to a flock of backyard chickens and a German Shorhaired Pointer named Gracie. She’s also shared the tough times with TCL viewers and was overwhelmed by the support from fellow dog-lovers after saying goodbye to her 13 year old Westie, Henry in May of 2017. Elizabeth has deep Minnesota roots. Her father is the president of Concordia University in St. Paul and her mother is an interior designer who is a frequent guest on Twin Cities Live.

"The greatest compliment," Elizabeth says, "is when people tell me they feel like they know me because they watch Twin Cities Live. It's a real honor to have people invite me into their living rooms every day."

Cooking is her passion and she loves growing as much of her own food as possible in her backyard garden. That is, of course, when it's not covered with snow. Elizabeth says, "Meeting super accomplished chefs has been one of the most fun perks of hosting TCL. I've gotten to cook with Lidia Bastianich, Martin Yan, Amanda Freitag, Ree Drummond and more." Although she's a Minnesotan through and through, her football loyalty lies in Wisconsin. She's a loyal Badger fan and her dad raised all of his girls to cheer for the Packers. Please forgive her!
