Local Theaters

If you aren’t one to travel into the city to see a play – don’t worry.  The Guthrie and the Ordway aren’t the only places to go to catch a holiday show.  Some of the suburbs have theaters that are putting out some holiday productions.  Executive Producer, Mandy Tadych, our Intern, Hannah Connolly, and Twin Cities Live Producer Maggie Sliter each checked one out.

Mandy headed to see Miracle on Christmas Lake II at Yellowtree Theater in Osseo.  The holiday comedy runs through December 30th, with performances on Wednesdays through Sundays.  Tickets range from $17-$20.  Mandy’s recommendation for where to eat before?  Nectar Wine Bar in Osseo

Hannah took a day trip to St. Croix Festival Theater, 50 miles outside of the Twin Cities.  Their production of It’s a Wonderful Life was heartwarming, good for all ages, and perfect for the holiday!  It runs through December 23rd and ticket prices are $13.50-$26.  She suggests Greccos for food and wine before the show.

Maggie went to check out the Plymouth Playhouse to see Christmas on the Ranch.  It’s an interactive play that celebrates a holiday party and there is a connection to KSTP.  The play runs through January 13th and tickets are $26-$30.  For dinner, The Green Mill is connected right to the theater so you don’t even have to walk outside!
