Be Well with TCL: Diet Pills
There hasn’t been an FDA approved weight loss drug on the market in thirteen years. Two have recently been approved and on the market in the laws few weeks. Internal medicine physician, Dr. Craig Bowron, explains what Qysima and Belviq are all about and whether they can really help you love weight – and how much.
Belviq is an appetite suppressant and is recommended for people with a BMI over 30 or a BMI over 27 with a condition. On average you can expect to see about a 5% weight loss.
Qsymia is a combination of Phentermine and Topiramate. It uses the “good” drug of Fen-Phen, which was pulled from the market for dangerous side effects. You can expect a 7-9% weight loss with this drug.
