Planning for Your Liquor

Trying to figure out how much alcohol to get for your party can be a bit tricky.  Ted Farrell from Haskells is here with the scoop on how to plan for it.

  1. Know your budget – what are you comfortable spending?
  2. Know your crowd – how many people do you expect and what are their ages?  Consider the median age of your attendees.
  3. Know your menu – know what you’re serving first before you select the liquor.
  4. Length of event – how long is the event?  Figure on one drink per person per hour.  This balances out the more mature drinkers and the newly aged drinkers.
  5. What is your format – will liquor be on the table or served?
  6. How much to buy:
  • 1 bottle liquor = 24 shots
  • 1 sixteen gallon keg of beer = 140 bottles
  • 1 bottle of wine = 5 pours
  • 1 case of wine = 60 servings

Ted suggests the following wines that he says will please everyone!

~ Angel’s Landing Pinot $11.99
~ Mud Pie Chardonnay (bogo) $18.99
