Blood Orange Cocktails

In honor of everyone donating blood today, Jeff Rogers, from The Lowry, is stirring up some cocktails made with blood oranges! 

Hennepin Avenue

1 oz. Bourbon
¾ oz. Calvados
1 oz. blood orange puree
½ oz. honey syrup (1 part honey: 1 part water)
2 drops orange flower water

Glassware: coupe or cocktail glass

Garnish: orange or blood orange peel

Procedure: Place all ingredients into a mixing glass and fill with 2/3 ice, cap and shake.  Strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish.

N/A Blood Orange Fizz

1 ½ oz. blood orange puree
1 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 ½ oz. simple syrup
1 small pasteurized egg white
Top with club soda

Glassware: collins or pint glass

Garnish: your choice

Procedure: Place all ingredients into a mixing glass, cap and dry shake for 20 secondsto emulsify the egg white.  Add ice and shake hard for 30 seconds.  Strain into an ice filled collins/pint glass, top with soda, and garnish.
