Blue Ribbon Baker, Marjorie Johnson cooks up one of her favorite dishes she'll be serving to her family this holiday season.
6 cooked sweet potatoes 1 c brown sugar 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup water 1/2 tsp salt
To make candied sweet potatoes pare 6 cooked sweet potatoes and cut in half and then cut lengthwise and put the sweet potatoes in a greased casserole. Combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon salt and cook together to make a syrup. Pour the syrup over the potatoes. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 35 minutes, basting potatoes with the syrup once. Potatoes may also be turned over. Casserole maybe covered while baking.
