35W Bridge: Chaplain and Survivor
Kristin West was on her way home from work on August 1st, 2007 when her Chevy Trailblazer fell into the Mississippi along with the 35W Bridge.  She met Chaplain Dan Hall at the Holiday Inn a few days later.  Dan and the chaplains helped Kristin and many other bridge survivors and family members of victims deal with the tragedy.  For more information about the Midwest Chaplains, click here.

Bridge Painter

Scott Lloyd Anderson has been documenting the rebuilding of the 35W bridge with a  series of 18 oil paintings, illustrating various phases and locations with an artistic eye. He spent many months out at the site, painting in the open air.  He is showing the paintings at the Thrivent Art Gallery in Minneapolis from August 1st to the 29th. A free reception will take place at the gallery tonight from 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  For more information, click here.
