Children’s Theatre Company: Mr. Popper’s Penguins  

A few weeks ago Elizabeth took Bernie to see Mr. Popper’s Penguins, playing now at Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis. She came back raving about it, so Twin Cities Live reporter Kelli Hanson wanted to check it out for herself. She asked to get up close to the penguins and what she came back with was, well, an accent! That’s because she learned how to speak Penguin-ise.

What's green, loathes Christmas and best friend is a dog that you'd typically spot wearing reindeer antlers? If you’re answer is The Grinch, typically you’d be right. But after seeing How the Grinch Stole Christmas at Children’s Theatre Company this month, TCL Reporter Kelli Hanson got inspired. So she asked to become the mean green guy and CTC helped her get in full costume. What she discovered was her heart isn’t two sizes too small, but rather two sizes too big! Kelli takes us with her on stage!

Noises Off at Guthrie Theater  

Get ready to laugh. A lot. “Noises Off” is bringing a lot of smiles to audiences. The show is at Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. “Noises Off” is a behind the scenes look at an acting troupe that rehearses and performs a show. All sorts of things start to fall apart and that’s when the hilarity ensues.

If you’re looking for something to get your family in the Holiday spirit, a trip to Stages Theatre in Hopkins this season is a must.  The company has been entertaining audiences for more than 3 decades and this year they’re having a Jolly holiday with Mary – Mary Poppins that is!  Twin Cities Live reporter Kelli Hanson got to hang with the star of the show and found out why this theatre company is unlike any other in the Twin Cities.

“A Christmas Carol” at the Guthrie Theater  

It’s one of the most beloved shows at the Guthrie Theater. “A Christmas Carol” is always a classic for families all over the cities. Ebenezer Scrooge is miserable and hates Christmas until his view changes after a visit by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The play goes on to showcase the joy of the holidays.

"Holiday Inn" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres  

The new musical based on the classic movie "Holiday Inn" is tapping its way across the stage at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres! The stars of the show stopped by to perform a number from this fun show, featuring the music of the legendary Irving Berlin!

Actress Melissa McCarthy is known for her comedic roles in movies like “Bridesmaids” and “Life of the Party”, but her latest role in “Can you ever forgive me?” definitely shows off her talent in a new way. Melissa stars at Lee Israel, a bestselling biographer who was in a major writing funk. So, she started writing fake letters from famous authors. She then sold them. Melissa’s portrayal is raw, real and likely an award winner.

They've turned out national champions and their work has been featured on "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With The Stars"!
